Afghanistan’s acting deputy prime minister for economic affairs, Mullah Ghani Baradar, has issued one of the strongest and most emotional statements of his career, expressing his deep hopes for the country’s future. Speaking in a very serious and impactful tone, he said his greatest lifelong desire is for Afghanistan to be able to stand on its own feet in all respects – politically, economically and strategically – without being dependent on any country.
