A new tension has emerged in Pakistan’s political atmosphere after the children of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, along with hundreds of activists, staged a sit-in outside the jail where Khan is currently lodged. According to close sources, Imran Khan’s son, daughter and other family members reached the jail and demanded an immediate meeting, claiming that they were not allowed to contact him for a long time.
Family Announcement: Don’t leave until the meeting.
In an emotional conversation with the media, Imran Khan’s children said that they would not move from the main gate of the jail. Until they are allowed to meet their father and their health and safety is confirmed.
A member of the family said:
“We will be here day and night. I won’t leave until I see my dad
The workers also raised the same demand.
Hundreds of workers joined the strike.
In the afternoon, the area outside the prison turned into a major protest site. Dozens, then hundreds of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists arrived. On their banners it was written:
“Imran Khan should meet his family.
“Stop political vendetta.
“We want proof of their well-being.
According to eyewitnesses, the number of protesters is constantly increasing, and more people are arriving outside the prison from different districts.
Security tightened as authorities maintain silence
Despite mounting pressure, the prison authorities have not yet given a clear answer. Security around the prison has been increased, more barricades have been put up, and additional police personnel have been deployed.
However, the protest is completely peaceful, and the leaders are exhorting the workers to remain calm.
The government’s silence has raised further doubts. Critics say hiding information about the former prime minister’s health is “extremely worrying” and could take the political crisis to a new level.
Concerns about Imran Khan’s health
Imran Khan’s legal team and family say he has not been allowed to meet them for several weeks, raising concerns that he may be being held in harsh or unfamiliar conditions.
PTI argues that the government is deliberately hiding their plight.
A senior leader said:
“Ordinary prisoners also have the right to meet the family. Why not Imran Khan?
The political temperature is rising again.
Political analysts say the situation is likely to worsen. Pakistan is already going through a political crisis, and tensions between the government and the PTI have been at an all-time high since Imran Khan’s arrest.
According to many observers, the direct involvement of Imran Khan’s children in the protests is a turning point, which could further escalate the domestic and global backlash.
The strike continued throughout the night – the workers set up camp
The protesters were still there at night. The workers distributed food, water and blankets and prepared for a long sit-in. The family members stood their ground.
“We’re not going to leave here. “” “Not today, not tomorrow, not until I meet Imran Khan.”
So far, the situation is under control, but tensions remain, and eyes across the country are on whether authorities will take any steps or maintain silence.
